55 saves for the Latvian goalie
Also, Latvia's jerseys are SICK.
Outshot them 57-16, so...Can confirm.
Man, what a bummer. Still embarrassing for Canada. Is this Engblom guy seriously talking about how he's impressed by Canada this game? rudum
So team USA will probably beat the ****** out of Canada.. both physically and on the scoreboard
I wanna see Hank vs. Quick in the finals. It'll be the one time I would be rooting against Lundqvist.
Lol Canada really shouldn't be celebrating this. They squeaked out a win vs Latvia.
Dear Team USA,
Please spank these good ole Canadian boys.
The fix was in on that last penalty. Penalty was weak. Let's be honest, who would want US vs. Latvia over US vs. Canada. That's not to say that Latvia would have ever scored a 2nd goal, but weak call to lead to the game winner.

Anyone expecting an easy game for Team USA is crazy. I'd give even odds going into the game.

The one thing I can say for the Olympics is there are some interesting european free agent pickups the Rangers could make. Without getting into names I'd be looking at some of the younger guys. The Latvian goalie today might be one. The older guys you have to be careful about--they tend to make more where they are and if you sign them for any length of term to a one way and they have trouble fitting in--then you've pretty much wasted a roster slot and are stuck with the cap hit.
Have to say--Petr Nedved looks like he can still skate.
So goaltending is the most variable aspect of hockey game-by-game. If you play that game over 100 times, I'd guess 6-0 comes up more times than 2-1.So...
