Ironic though. also consider too that none of the players in the Olympics this year are from the NHL, you would think it would be more for those guys.

They still play professionally or they recently retired from the NHL or they play in ... women can't get stable jobs playing hockey because nobody watches it.

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if this trend was across all sports... it's easier to compete in events for women because many countries neglect women in sports. If your goal is to medal (which it is for Canada) investing in women makes more sense.
