Proposal: Oilers | Wings

Both are RH, RFA d-men. Similar in age with each having identical point-per-game averages in their career. I don't know how Wings fans feel about Bowey but with the Oilers needing to change up their blueline, Bowey would be a solid target to acquire. Him and Nurse have prior chemistry from the WJ's and I feel like they'd be a solid pair for next year.

Wings fans that are wondering about Benning; he's a very solid third-pairing defender who has been a positive defender on a team that's been quite negative overall since he made the team in 16-17. He's quite physical, and can make a pass. He has some offensive ability (video below) but with his QO being almost $2 million, it's one the team can afford.

Benning has pretty good underlying numbers. At best this is a lateral trade.

If we need help on D, we should package the 1st with Nurse/Klef and see what we can get.
