So TMac, you've tried yelling at your players. What about, I dunno, actually coaching them?
Beyond one of the home wins against San Jose last year and a pre-season game his first year, I honestly cannot remember any other instances in which McLellan out-foxed another coach.
In that time, however, he has been mercilessly taken out behind the woodshed by almost every other bench boss in the league when it comes to match-ups, timeouts, special teams, etc.- you name it, he's abysmal at it. Tonight, it's been a Guy trap special on the road- a "clinic", as Stauffer called it.
TMac is a coach who has gotten where he has on the backs of other, more talented mentors. That's it. At his best, he's an empty suit who has neither a positive nor negative impact on a game; at worst- and boy, it can get worse- he's like an immunization against success.
Learn how to utilize a generational talent, you ****wit. After that, watch some tape and figure out what a real powerplay looks like at the NHL level. Maybe then you'll be in a position to bag-skate players for a week. As of right now, though, you're the reason this team is terrible. Do your job.
