I hope not. Dvorak is nice and stoic but every story I've read about him says that he's an introvert and the quietest guy in the room.

Chychrun would be my pick.

I think Chychrun has captain written all over him. Easy to see when he takes his onesie off. He's too young. Give him a year or two.

No captain for this season. Too many weird one year contracts, so the team will be very different again after this coming season. Chychrun will eventually be captain, but I don’t want this upcoming struggle season to weigh on his shoulders

They will probably go with a bunch of rotating As and then name Chychrun next summer.

A team with no captain is not a team with a strong locker room culture. You want to start building culture, you start with a captain. I've heard Dvo in a number of interviews. The guy can handle himself. Smooth and self assured without coming across as an a hole. For a year, at least, he can start the new culture. Remember, Doan wasn't exactly a loudmouth either.

BA says our core is Keller, Chychrun, Dvo and Schmaltz. You would think the captains should include at least 2 of them?

Dvo sounds like the perfect guy for an A. A lot like Hammer. You know he’s gonna come and work his ass off every day and set the example but he doesn’t need to be the actual leader

It's a mistake promoting Youngsters to be captains (someone under age 25)...they don't know enough to be Captain as they haven't been in the league that long, I don't care if they are the best players on the team.

Leadership requires experience, and Chychrun/Dvo/Crouse haven't been around long enough. I always thought it was a mistake to make Crosby/McDavid/Eichel captains. I understand they "want" to be Captains, but leadership is a funny thing and no matter what happens, a 35yr old married with 4 kids (or any kids) has way more experience in dealing w/stuff than a young kid, never married who's been up for less than 4years.

Just my 2 cents. I think Chychrun will make a great captain 5yrs from now when he turns 28...but until then, gimme the veteran who can navigate across the organization in a positive manner dealing with all kinds of obstacles.

It's why you don't see any 25yr old Generals in the Army. Those guys don't exist for a reason.
