I like calls being accurate - to an extent. I think the rules will need a bit of refining now because it's gone too far in the other direction imo.

This only seemed to became an issue once we got a goal called back. There's nothing wrong with getting a call right.

It been discussed as an issue league wide since the beginning. At the heart it was meant to take away obvious offsides, not 1-2 inch / foot off the ice, offsides.

This. If anything, it should open more people's eyes as to how horrific the linesmen are at actually getting it right. I mean, I thought umps were bad with balls and strikes in baseball, but this is unlike anything I think I've ever seen.

They need to start using tech to determine offsides and goals. I mean, even an archaic sport like soccer has adopted goal line tech.

I don't like coaches challenges being allowed for offside reviews. I don't want to see the human side of the game being completely taken out. Challenges for goals are fine, but only to the extent of getting that call correctly, imo.

I don't get what there is to appreciate about the human element of ****ing up the game by getting calls wrong.

Makes no sense to me that it's only reviewed as a part of a goal.

An offside leading to a breakaway that results in a penalty shot being awarded can't be reviewed to my knowledge.

If it's missed and 45 seconds later the puck ends up going in without leaving the zone it makes no sense to me that the play can be reviewed on the offside.

Either we want the game called correctly with replay or we don't. Just looking at how the puck entered the zone on a goal doesn't accomplish that in my opinion.

Then look at it after every questionable zone entry.

It can happen 100 times in a game and be wrong 10 times but only reviewed once.

Fix them all or don't fix any. Just fixing those that happen to lead to goals is still leaving room for too many bad calls that can still effect the outcome.

This.

Remove the human element and get it right every time.

Linesmen can still drop pucks and watch for other infractions to stay relevant.

How would they do that for offsides?

How would they do that for offsides?

How can they tell if a player crosses the line before the puck?

Pretty sure we've come far enough in the tech world to monitor 2 bluelines for offside calls in a hockey game.

It would involve spending money on the technology but it would be very doable.

I don't think it would be as easy as you think.

You think? Very complicated thing to achieve. Probably have to involve players wearing sensor as well as the puck having some sort of emiter/transmitter.
