I'm still trying to figure out how many of you are Simmons alts.
There goes my theory that you're Steve Simmons and Damien Cox.

You do understand that there are literally millions of Leafs' fans of every stripe and not every one of them consume the product exactly the same as you? Not every Honda owner has a Honda tattoo. Not every Apple user thinks Steve Jobs was a god.

And why would someone with a public soapbox with which he gets plenty of attention possibly care about getting more attention anonymously?

My 10 thoughts:

Just kidding

why are you saying this to me and not the person who cracked on me first?

I doubt Robertson makes it out of camp at this rate tbh, mainly just because of the waiver eligible competition he faces - he'll need to be excellent.

I like that Järnkrok quickly showed off his shooting talent and probably provided some comfort for fans as a possible Top 6 option. Looking at his statistical profile in recent seasons, I don't see why he couldn't possibly experience a jump in production to close to 50 PTS in our Top 6. He's paced at around 40 in recent years as is - also adds some defensive value.

Three lines I see eventually settling are:

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Nylander-Tavares-Järnkrok
Engvall-Kämpf-Aston-Reese (matchups)

That leaves a line formed around Kerfoot and Aubé-Kubel as the last one, and I'd imagine that last spot goes to the best of Robertson and likely the top waiver eligible guys in Malgin/Gaudette/Anderson/Simmonds.

TOR already had Robertson-Kerfoot-Aubé-Kubel together, so I'd think this overall framework is at least a thought.

I hear Saturday nights in Tampa Bay can cause migraines the next day too.
Seriously migraines can be the real deal. When I get them, they're rare now that I avoid certain foods, I get these blinding flashing lights in my vision plus nausea that follows with the nasty headache. I can't imagine doing anything athletic with that going on.

I guess I have him on my ignore list.

I agree with this. I think Robertson should get a long look at camp but unless he plays really well (which he hasn't yet), he should start with the Marlies. We have a lot of waiver-eligible forwards that have looked better than him to this point.

If he earns it, he earns it and players will go on waivers. To this point, my opinion is that he hasn't shown here (or at the prospects tournament) what he showed at the AHL level last year (which is that he's a very good player). He needs to show it here.

Robertson is only 21 right? Let him play in the A.

We've had enough guys play well, that aren't waiver exempt that it's beginning to look like it's the A for him for sure. That being said, his path doesn't get any easier next year, if Knies comes in and performs, Holmberg can play there, or Amirov gets healthy... There is going to be a lot of competition at the LW spot very soon...

As early as later this year.
Such a good problem to have.

I like Malgin getting a chance on the 2nd line. He's talented enough to play there. I don't think it can be a long term thing but it's worth exploring. Ideally he's on one of the bottom 6 lines in a scoring role. We have the personel to deploy a shutdown and scoring line on the bottom 2 lines.

Now for the negative, it's just pre season lines so means very little but Benn with Rielly is terrible. Won't complain too much because again pre season combos, but Keefe did put Lyb with Rielly and he clearly thought it was good so it's cause for concern.
