Not only that, but do you really think Campbell is going to replicate those first 20 games this year? With Edmonton's defence? I'll take my chances with Murray and Samsonov.
For one season as opposed to 5. I love Soup and think he played well for us but just like Fred its all about what you do in the playoffs. Lots of talk about MM and his injury history yet Soup has missed games every season with injury and has had many mental breakdowns over his carrier. I would imagine the burden of a 5x5 contract in Toronto would weigh heavily on Jacks mind if things went south. Jack at 5.5 for two years i would take just not at 5.

Jack Campbell and Auston Matthews were Leafs co-MVPs last season contributing both to Leafs 115 point season and both players represented the Leafs in the All-Star game being named to the event based on their performances.

If Jack Campbell's personal stats at .914 sv% and 2.64 GAA are considered crap then we have the base line established for the new goalies to finish above this season. Wonder if Matt Murray will be named to the All-Star game coming hot out of the gate winning 15 of his first 20 games playing .750 hockey.
Marner wears 16.

Murray and Samsonov are going to have their work cut out for them, based on the poor seasons they're coming off of,k that saw them dumped by their former teams.

I don't see either new goalie winning 15 of their first 20 starts this year, to match Campbell truth be told.

Campbell set the marks to beat at 31 wins .914 sv% and 2.64 GAA, and if the new guys can't match that the Leafs will have no choice but drop in the standings from last year.

Neither of the new goalies who didn't post a GAA nor SV% in the top 50 overall last year, so it will make for an intriguing season ahead. IMO

Our defense already looking really banged up. Signing Sandin in a timely manner looking more vital. Also don't think Holl is going anywhere soon, if there was any doubt.

Murray is coming off a better season than Campbell.

The goaltending mark to beat from last year is -21 GSAx.

It's a gamble no doubt, but it's a one year gamble if they continue their trend. With Campbell, he hasn't shown any consistency as a starter...ever. Now the Oilers are gambling that he will find it in 5 years. A bigger gamble IMO.

Muzzin's body is done. One more year after this season... Wouldnt be shocked if he gets off loaded in the off season.

Campbell was I consistent last year but the way some are talking here is that Campbell played like an AHL replacement level goalie. He stole us games last year and was good overall. I’m good with moving on from but acting like he was bad all year last year for the leafs is wrong.

Only 1 teenager in those groups (Minten) and reports are that he played pro style in the rookie tournament. Expect him to sign his ELC before he goes back to juniors.

over/under on how many games he plays, more than 1/2 season?
We had the same thought, just posted a thread with a poll. I am guessing somewhere in the 45ish range, just over half. Any high hits or anything in his knees will likely put him out for weeks at a time.

I don't think he will finish the season ..
They will try to get him healthy for the playoffs.
I think he retires next year

If his body is done I hear there’s a beautiful sandy beach on Robidas island. His LTIR cap number is worth its weight in gold if he’s indeed on his last legs
