His point is NYI go on to the final 4 in both 2020 and 2021 before losing to the TB Lightening the Stanley Cup Champs both years,

Lou Lam is named Executive of the year in 2020 and 2021.

John Tavares joins Leafs and they go Lost in round #1 X 4 years.

If JT wanted playoff success he should have stayed in NY and with each passing year he likely regrets that decision more, and he might even have a Stanley Cup now, ;)

Lol, I don’t think Tavares regrets his decision at all. Even if he never wins a cup. The fact he got to captain the Leafs will be a lifelong cheque and a life’s worth of satisfaction. He got to live out his dream. I think the Stanley Cup is the icing on the cake if he can achieve that.

Exceptional Status, 1st Overall, World Junior Gold, Spengler Cup Gold, Olympic gold, NHL All-Star, World Cup, one of the richest NHL players ever. I don’t think he regrets a damn thing

I could swear I was at Islanders forum
What's up with all the Lou talk?

So, who's looking good in our camp?
Is Steeve and Anderson another name for McDavid? .... One of them should make the team. How do you not beat out Simmonds for a role?

Who's going to be our whipping boy this year? Kerfoot?
I say Murray and I say it will take about another 3 weeks

Who has new gfs, how hot are they?

That's the kind of stuff I want to know.... I don't care about the Isles

So far none of them have looked very good.
Looks like this is going to be a long season!

I'm looking forward to see how the keepers do, and how long Murray is starter.

I wouldn't discount Källgren, Erik either.

Be interesting if they end up going with two 25 year old keepers.

Campbell was trash last year.

Jack Campbell and Auston Matthews were Leafs co-MVPs last season contributing both to Leafs 115 point season and both players represented the Leafs in the All-Star game being named to the event based on their performances.

If Jack Campbell's personal stats at .914 sv% and 2.64 GAA are considered crap then we have the base line established for the new goalies to finish above this season. Wonder if Matt Murray will be named to the All-Star game coming hot out of the gate winning 15 of his first 20 games playing .750 hockey.

if firing Dubas results in losing Matthews then yes, that would be lunacy.

It would seem really awkward for the team to hire a new GM and try to form a relationship with the franchise player weeks before Matthews is eligible to sign an extension.
I’m thinking Matthews doesn’t give a crap about Dubas. It’s all about “show me the money”

You really think he is going to make 20 games…….what an optimist you are.

We are about to find out that answer because the new players stats don't compare favourably and fall far below Jack's performance on the past season.
That's not true. Murray's performance this past season was better than Campbell's.

Campbell was not remotely close to an MVP last year, and is in a different universe from Matthews.

Not only that, but do you really think Campbell is going to replicate those first 20 games this year? With Edmonton's defence? I'll take my chances with Murray and Samsonov.

MVP means you were the reason your team was as good as they were. Campbell was really good for the first 2 months of the season and the All-Star game is the half way point of the season ish. Half a season doesn't make it a full one.

More than half of the season he struggled badly though. You know this. Campbell contributed to the worst save percentage and goals against average of the entire NHL from January 1st to the end of the season. This isn't to say he didn't have good games in that bad span or wasn't better than any other option. But he was far from an MVP. To compare Matthews' and Campbell in the same breathe is really funny.
