Anyway, they took an unrelated song by a fairly popular band, shot a quickie music video with a couple DEL Kölner Haie players in the background. It looks rather small time but professional at least...

The IIHF Worlds are not a mega event capable of luring Metallica or Christina Aguilera, so within the bracket of artists they could reasonably hope to get, this has to rank among the more notable.
It's not great music, but they are in fact pretty famous and I don't know that many previous IIHF anthem have gotten that much more airplay...

On an unrelated note, the Finnish band Stratovarius once did the official anthem for... Eurobasket in Greece.
They could do something for the next one that takes place in Finland.
