Im quite enjoying reading your thoughts and placements of many of the draftees. I like how its just a straight up Mock draft rather than a draft which includes a bunch of multiplayer trades which are unrealistic like some of the other mocks.

I agree. Allows us to concentrate on making picks only and boy is there a ton of knowledge on prospects around here.

With the 41st selection, the New York Islanders are proud to select from the Espoo United (Mestis), Jesse Ylonen, RW.

Jesse is known for his skating, quick acceleration and wonderful stickwork, fully capable of beating opposing defenders wide and inside. We realize he'll need to develop his lower body strength and defensive game, but we project him to fit into our top-6 in the future.

NYI Draft Summary

11. Vitali Kravtsov
12. Brady Tkachuk
41. Jesse Ylonen

@Mrb1p - Carolina is on the clock.

The Carolina Hurricanes are proud to select, from the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL, Cole Fonstad.

With Cole, we feel that we add another highly skilled forward, with offensive attributes all over the board. His playmaking skills, cunning and skating are what will make him thrive in the NHL, despite his average size.

Nice! Would have taken him if Addison wasn't there.

With the 43rd pick of the 2018 Entry Draft, the Islanders are proud to select from the London Knights (OHL), Liam Foudy, C

Liam has progressed nicely in his two seasons with the Knights going from 15 points to 40 on a rebuilding team. Very fast on his feet, but handles the puck well. While there were some concerns with some in the scouting community regarding his second half explosion in production, we feel Liam just "clicked" and figured things out.

Smith and Addison. BPA and fills massive needs for Oilers.

They rarely take D in the first 2 rounds. Only 3 picks of D in Rounds 1&2 in the last 10 drafts. Darnell Nurse, Oscar Klefbom & David Musil.

They really like their forwards in the first 2 rounds & take D in rounds 3-7.

They'd be stupid not to take Smith in 1st round, but I can see them taking a forward in round 2. We'll see how it plays out.

Not like they have a good drafting record anyways. I can't see them passing up on Addison if he makes it to their 2nd.
