The Detroit Red Wings select from the Mississauga Steelheads centre Ryan Mcleod

Ryan doesn’t have the same straightaway speed that makes his brothers one of the fasted prospects of the past few years, but his skating is still well above average. He is a very agile player, with the ability to move side-to-side quicker than most. McLeod is a puck-distributing center that will create his own offense only after looking for his linemates. His high end passing ability and great on-ice vision will help allows him to be the kind of playmaker that boosts the production of less talented wingers.

The Vancouver Canucks are pleased to select from Timra of the Allsvenskan center, Jacob Olofsson.

Olofsson is a player with good speed & puck control who already plays an advanced two-way game. He is excellent cycling the puck as well as defending the cycle. However, he is also dangerous off the rush as his puck protection skills & stickhandling allow him to dangle around defenseman.

He is an excellent center prospect to add to our current young guns Pettersen & Horvat. Building strength through the middle is an important part of our rebuild.

main guy I was debating with Miller. Ultimately went with Miller because of the upside but I like Olofsson at this spot.

I'll do the write-up for my selection in the morning...
But the Montreal Canadiens are proud to select... From the Penticton Vees, Jonny Tychonick.

I'll PM next GM.

Not sure I wouldn't have gone with McLeod ahead of Shafigulin at 35, but damn, Boqvist-Shafigulin-Tychonick is a solid haul already.

I like McLeod's upside as a complete top 6 center in the NHL though.

Good job ;)

You just want to see drunk WTK lose his f***ing mind on draft day taking a McLeod.

NY Rangers pick defenseman Jacob Bernard-Docker, of the Okotoks Oilers of the AHL.

Bernard-Docker might be considered a risky pick this early in the draft, playing in a weaker league and all, but there are clear and unmistakable traits that make him very attractive. First and foremost he his overall mobility. He's a fast and agile skater with great balance and effortless stride. He shows great composure and decision making and if he can continue displaying those qualities when he moves to the NCAA, we'll have a potential home run pick.

Draft recap

9 - Quinn Hughes, LD, USA, University of Michigan, NCAA
28 - Ty Dellandrea, C, CAN, Flint Firebirds, OHL
29 - Serron Noel, RW, CAN, Oshawa Generals, OHL
39 - Jacob Bernard-Docker, RD, CAN, Okotoks Oilers, AJHL

I was debating between Olofsson & Tychonick. Went with the center, but that's a good pick at that spot. It would be nice if he fell to Montreal with their second 2nd, but I have a feeling he goes late first in the actual draft.

Oilers are super thrilled to select Calen Addison!

"Addison is an unbelievable skater and he is one of the fastest skaters in this draft class. He has elite edgework, agility and pivots. He possesses very good vision and passing skills, with the ability to start the transition game and play the point on the powerplay. He loves to drive offence and jumps into the play, both off the rush and pinching at the blue line. Addison also has the stickhandling ability to skate the puck out of danger, and even to lead the rush. Addison also has a very good snapshot and wrist shot. He gets them both off very quickly, with an excellent release. Oilers are very pleased to have both Smith and Addison to help out the blueline."

@sandviper is up and pmed

Im quite enjoying reading your thoughts and placements of many of the draftees. I like how its just a straight up Mock draft rather than a draft which includes a bunch of multiplayer trades which are unrealistic like some of the other mocks.
