People are expecting the Hawks to win the cup (2nd in odds after Penguins) on past success (3 cups in 6 years). But they have been absolutely killed by the cap. Yes, they have rebounded before but this time is different. They made the playoffs last season due to a 106 point monster season by Patrick Kane. Remove Kane and they suck last year. This year they got rid of Teuvo, Richards, Shaw and added an aging Campbell. They did nothing to address their problem with depth and are a one line team carried by Kane. Campbell addresses a need but his age is up there and their bottom pairing is still crap. The Hawks (unless they address their depth issues, and bottom d-pairing) are no longer a playoff team.
