Thought the topic to start off with would be vacation time as the warmer weather approaches or if one go's to a warmer area as we still have winter like temps. Wife and I are going to Virginia Beach on the 14th and staying a week. Can't forget to bring my radio and listen to the play-offs. Mostly looking forward to sitting on the beach and getting some reading done and just getting away from work......I just HATE my job!!!!!

Our summer vacation is to Boston, Tom Petty in July, other than that, I`m golfing, a TON

I`m on the official unemployed line right now by choice with Mrs. Odaat`s blessing. I graduated from Uni a few years ago and never really used my degree and am currently working with a company down here who offers workshops and has "inside info" on the hidden job market so I`m taking part in those and beginning my search for a career in my field in the next 6-8 weeks

We are heading to BC at the tail end of summer but I wouldn`t consider that a vacation as we are ripping accross the province looking for landing spots once Mrs Odaat finishes her College obligations to be closer to her family so we`ll be out there for 2 weeks but not much down time, doing recon of the many beautiful areas to settle there.

Boston is a nice place to vacation as there are lots of things to do and see the only thing I hate is there are so many parking problems that by the time you keep taking the "T" you can only do 3-4 things a day. Prolly this summer going to go down to Myrtle Beach,SC, we wanted to go this time but we waited to long and most of the resorts were booked as it is the week of Easter.

we`ve been to Boston a ton, love it, this will however only be the 2nd summer vacation there and really were only staying 3 days so not really a vacation. Were staying at Boston Park Plaza which appears to be pretty central to most things. Were not planning on doing a ton, we get in about 3pm, then the first night were heading to Bourque`s restaurant. Day 2 (concert day), I`ll be watching Mrs Odaat shop then we`ll head to the concert.

Day, 3, see above but take out the Petty concert:laugh:

We won`t have a car, I try to stay either downtown which is pricey but so much less frustrating then staying on the outskirts and riding the T all day, by staying where we are, it appears anywhere we want to go is easily accessible

Going to DC with my girlfriend at the end of May for a long weekend. Been down there a few times for work over the last couple years but haven't been down as a tourist since I was like 9. Looking forward to it

Going to DC with my girlfriend at the end of May ...
Nice avatar! I used to let my turntable repeat that album over and over when I was in high school in the 70s. My family is tentatively moving to GA at the end of May. Moving a houseful of furniture and 2 cars won't be easy, but it's worth it. I've been a closet Celtics fan since they drafted Bird and Patriots fan since they started a certain QB from my favorite university in college sports MI (Go Blue!) ;) and since I'll be on the East Coast I'm coming out of the closet. Sorry Bears and Bulls you're dead to me now. The above album was rated one of the top 40 of all time by Rolling Stone critics in case any classic rock fans like me want to check it out. Have a great weekend!

We will be stopping at DC on our way to Virginia Beach as the Daughter works in DC and are going to spend the day with her and go to the National Zoo and other things too.

Had a bit of a yolo moment last night and spent waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much money on concert tickets for the Classic in NYC.

Night one is the Eagles, Steely Dan, and the Doobie Brothers. Night two is Fleetwood Mac, Journey, and Earth Wind and Fire.

It will be a really fun weekend but having a bit of buyers remorse. I can be a bit impulsive at times.

We got in with a presale code...not that much but definitely not cheap. Just over $1000 for both of us, but decent seats, on an aisle (my Bruins tix have made me an aisle snob), and it's really 2 concerts so I guess it's not terrible.

My concert lineup so far this summer is...eclectic, to say the least.

The Classic
Boston and Joan Jett
Dropkick Murphys
Sublime with Rome/Everclear
New Kids on the Block

Going to Nags Head, NC, in August with 3 other couples and there will be 10 children from 1y to 9y. :help:

Very nice house so there will be plenty of space for all of us.

Nags Head is my favorite place in the entire world. My friends and I would rent a house for a week there, did it about 6 years in a row. Then weddings and babies and house purchasing got in the way and we haven't been in a few years.

You're in a good spot at MP 11.7, that's right around where we used to stay. Lucky 12 is a great bar with really good pizza, and it's right there (Lucky 12 because it's at MP 12).

I'm jealous. I need to get back there soon.

Don Henley- "There's no more tours. It was Glenn's band. No Glenn , no Eagles.

Henley a while later- " Maybe we will tour if Glenn's son wants to play with us."
Followed by the news that the son wont be playing with them.

Classic concerts announced with no explanation. Eagles to make millions.
You are what you are.

I saw the Eagles in 07 or 08 when they played in Boston and thought it was a terrible show. That's the band I'm looking forward to seeing the least.

I saw Don Henley solo in September and he was pretty good.

Also, I am the oldest 33 year old alive when it comes to some of my musical taste.

Saved for two years, the Family is going to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in August for 2 weeks. Can't freaking wait. Mrs. Black Crowes and I will occasionally look at each other when the boys are acting up and just say "4 months to go....."

It will be my 3rd time. Went in Rodanthe in 2006 and Nags head in 2007. All adults back then. :naughty:

Last time we were at Make-a-wish

Will be fun for the children. Will be formidable memories for them. If they revolt, we are outnumbered tough 10 vs 8...

Can't wait.

Saw the Eagles in 75 at the Garden, fronting the Allman Brothers. Then I saw them opening for Fleetwood Mac in 77 or so. Then we saw them at the Fleetcenter from the 5th row in 2005 or so and they were brilliant.

If this was 10 years ago b4 kids, I would be there too. Was reading about it the other day and was amazed how much Fleetwood Mac made on their last tour. We see Earth Wind and Fire just about everytime theyre here when they are the head-liner

That's why we ultimately decided to suck it up and spend the money. Who knows what situation we'll be in later down the line. No kids and have the financial means...why not? Fun long weekend in NYC, visit with friends, hit the beach at Coney Island, and get to see some bucket list bands.

We tried to get tickets to the Rancid/DKM show in Brooklyn, that's an awesome venue. But they were sold out and stupid expensive on the secondary market. So we're seeing the show in beautiful Brockton, Mass instead.
