I think I would DFA Saucedo before Thornton. Saucedo would have had a role as a LOOGY before the batter-faced minimum came into play, but he's so completely useless against righties that he's just not worth the spot.
Yea Saucedo would be the first to go for me.

The hell we DFAing Palacios to get a 3rd catcher on the roster for? When Kirk and Jansen were both going to be playing a bunch sure it made some sense. How often are you going to want both Kirk and Collins in the lineup for? This reaks of them wanting to do Kirk and Collins today, finding out Jansen is hurt and not feeling comfortable doing that without a 3rd catcher but being so damn stubborn to do it that you're bringing another useless catcher tot he roster

Do they consider Collins so incompetent at catcher that he can't backup and catch twice in the next 10 days? I guess we'll see who they have catching when Kirk has a day off

The fact that we're playing a 3rd-string catcher at DH 4 games into the season is really rather gruesome. We sorta overlooked the fact that we don't have any bats on the bench to start the season.

Its game 4, I think people are looking into the Tapia, Zimmer and Collins situation a little too much. We have so much talent on this team its not an issue to look at low cost options for the bench... If these guys dont work out, I have faith management wont decide to cheap out now. Its an all in season, and will be for the near future. The fact we didn't get J-Ram from the Ind.. Guardians doesn't mean much.

That's sorta the thing - it's only game 4, we only have 1 injury, and that's already causing us to plunk a sub-600 ops guy into the DH spot. That's brutal.

No doubt later in the season between Moreno coming up and us likely picking up a bat this will be addressed...but this will cost us in the first half of the season.

To be fair, I think the fact that most benches suck (even on good teams) suggests it's hard to make those improvements.

Like... the Yankees have Higashioka as their STARTING catcher and they're playing Marwin Gonzalez at SS tonight. That's brutal.

WTF did they do to Camden?

New wall

For just the second time in the 30-year history of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the outfield dimensions have changed. Unlike the brief 2001 alteration, this one is here to stay.

To counteract what has been a hitter’s haven, the left field wall was moved back about 30 feet and the height of the fence was raised from just over 7 feet to 13 feet.

The changes give Camden Yards a slightly different look. About 1,000 seats along 10 rows were removed from the stadium to make way for the deeper wall, and a right angle was added to left-center field where fans used to look down into the bullpens.

The changes might be felt on the field of play, too. At least 14% of the home runs hit at Camden Yards since MLB’s Statcast tracking system began in 2015 would have stayed in play with the new dimensions, according to an investigation from The Baltimore Sun.

Wow. Figured Chapman would be good, but did not expect the entire infield defense to look so good thus far.

Crazy how one small tip from Tulo about always moving your feet (prior to the work they did this offseason) started to turn Bo's whole defensive game around.

Looks great so far.

This is a little weird to look at to say the least lol
