Anybody a little bit worried it's just two years of Chapmann and then we lose him to free agency? I know it'll be a good two years but with having to pay our own big guns I wonder if we can retain him.
Wonder how much cash is going to the Rockies?

No because we acquired and paid him to produce for the 2 years we have him, not for the years we dont.Anybody a little bit worried it's just two years of Chapmann and then we lose him to free agency? Lmao that video.
How the hell does one have a launch angle of -5 degrees?
Tapia can and will play CF. He only didn't play CF in Colorado because he was their every day LF.Happy with the trade, was expecting to get nothing back for Grichuk. To get a decent bench player who fills a need and a lottery ticket prospect is a nice bit of business. Hopefully we dont send the Rockies too much money, would like some savings.
I always liked Grichuk. Showed up and played every night and did what was asked of him. Thought the contract was premature but he was on average a 2 WAR player prior, you expected he should have got better and becoming a 3+ WAR player would have made the contract a steal. Didnt work out but he had to be moved in my eyes, happy he will get a shot to start all year and i think he flourishes with the Rockies. Wish him nothing but the best.
Wonder if this is it , or does this set us up for another or more moves. I think another move is coming. Springer cant play 80-90+ games at CF so someone else has to pick up the rest. Tapia cant play CF either other than a few innings. I cant see us using Teo or Gurriel in CF for 80+ games. I suspect we are bringing in another CF. Gardner? Someone from Cleveland in a Ramirez trade? Reds have a CF?

Adrian Pinto | SS/2B
Track Record: At 5-foot-6, Pinto is typically the smallest player on the field. That didn’t deter the Rockies, who signed him for $120,000 out of Venezuela, and he was outstanding in his pro debut in 2021. Pinto had more than twice as many walks (38) as strikeouts (18) in the Dominican Summer League, ranking second in the league in both batting average (.360) and on-base percentage (.486) and fourth in slugging percentage (.543).
Scouting Report: Pinto has a small but strong, compact build. He has outstanding hand-eye coordination and a short, quick stroke, rarely swinging and missing. His ability to recognize pitches and swing at good pitches are already advanced for his age, with a short strike zone that he doesn’t often expand. Pinto is more of an on-base threat than a power threat, but he has some sneaky pop for his size and isn’t just a slap hitter. Pinto’s tools jump out as well. He’s a plus-plus runner who led the DSL with 41 stolen bases. He has a plus arm too. He he spent most of his time last year at second base, his most likely defensive home.
The Future: Pinto has yet to make his U.S. debut, but he’s a breakout candidate and one of the organization’s most exciting players below the full-season level.

With the acquisition of Adrian Pinto, the Blue Jays now have in their system two of the three highest OBPs last season, min. 200 PA.
These are the BB/SO ratio leaders:
Adrian Pinto, 2.11
2. Javier Sanoja, 1.64
3. Leo Jimenez, 1.50
Nos. 1 and 3 are Blue Jays prospects.
Colorado was actively looking for a CF (Grichuk). They traded Tapia for Grichuk. The praise for Pinto is coming from outside of Toronto too. Weird the Rockies would just toss him away like that.
Don't worry I'm sure the trio of Grichuk, Blackmon and Bryant will lead them to glory...assuming Coors Field isn't swallowed by the supermassive black hole generated from the lack of defense in the outfield.
