I wonder if the deal for Ramirez last deadline was the one that included Moreno and Manoah, back when he was less of a known quantity. There has to be a near zero chance Alek moves now.

Manoah was just as good(or better) in May to July last year than he was August and September. 2 month less proven, but I don't believe management would have considered moving Manoah last summer at all

Atkins comments seem to indicate that they’ll keep kicking tires to see if something makes sense in terms of cost/assets, but they’re rather comfortable heading into the season with this group.

But it also indicates that he will probably stay aggressive into the season and up to the deadline. That may be eluding to keep tabs on Ramirez as the season progresses.

gives them ample time to see if biggios 1st year was the abberation, or last year was. he really could rebound into a very valuable player, and only 26.

Positionally, where is the Jay's biggest weakness? 2b?
Depending on which Biggio you get....the injured 2021, or the 5 war'ish 2019/2020 version (159 games), I would say LF with Gurriel.

Dh by a long shot.

If you have Kirk DH, you need three C (and we likely have a bench of 4 including backup catcher). With a platoon at 2B, that would leave 4th OF as last spot.

i wonder if they could offer freeman a big contract to DH and heavily front load it. given the window this specific roster has the next 2 years it might be worth a look.

something like...
40mil
35mil
20mil
15mil
10mil

just a thought.

Of course, the ask is high. You’re asking a team to part with a MVP-calibre player. You also have to remember that just because a team is asking for something, that doesn’t mean they won’t settle for less. Personally, I think the Jays would be fine if they hold onto, say, two of their top four prospects. I’d offer something like Moreno, Biggio, Pearson, and another lower prospect.
not a chance do I include Moreno in any package

The Rockies are an absolute dumpster fire

Is Correa on a short-term deal with opt-outs or even a medium-term deal with multiple opt-outs out of the question?

He’s only 27 and he’ll still be able to get a $200+ million contract at 30.

Come get a real ring in Toronto with Springer, Correa.

There's a lot of things to look at this Bryant deal and all of them reflect very poorly on the Rockies;

- Bryant's market was likely small as teams like Seattle, Toronto and allegedly San Francisco all pulled out relatively early in the re-opened free agent period. No team was stupid enough to even consider the deal he got so the Rockies essentially bid, and then outbid themselves. Great sign for their new front office

- They traded a franchise caliber 3B and 50 million dollars away because the prior GM was an idiot and then had to sign a shittier, more banged up 3B to fill the hole.

-All of this stupidity could have been avoided if the Rockies ****ing fired their old GM, Jeff Bridich when pretty much every move he made prior to this failed miserably. The Ian Desmond signing, pretty much every bullpen arm he signed, that f***ing atrocity of a Charlie Blackmon extension, Daniel Murphy, giving up Arenado and getting absolutely nothing in return even with the 50 million in cash, etc
