Offer them back their 2023 2nd perhaps although I'm unsure he should even cost that much based on Vegas's predicament.
I don't know that their predicament would hurt his value all that much. Given his age and his potential for a bridge contract there are a lot of teams that would be willing to make a legitimately decent trade for him. Vegas should get full value for him as there would be a lot of suitors.

A Sabres fans FA favorite looking likely to stay put, Pagnotta: Letang and Penguins making progress on a 7-8mil deal

Take Chad DeDominicis for what you want but he’s tweeting out random q&a stuff mostly about draft preference and he said there was “some growing hope” Ryan Johnson might still sign this summer. He has never officially announced he’s going back fwiw. I haven’t heard anyone even speculate signing this off-season was still on the table. He also speculates like many of us that Levi signs after the year and Portillo walks. I think Portillo turning down a wide open net in the AHL when Levi stayed was pretty much the death knell on that at the time.

The fact that Johnson never definitively said anything is what really stood out, and for a while my sense was that he was going to wait for dev camp to make his decision. No idea which way that decision ends up, only that I would not be shocked at all if he did end up signing later this month.

I'm not giving up hope on Portillo. I think he's the anti-Cardale Jones...he is going to Michigan to play school as well as hockey. I get the sense from the reporting on him that finishing his business degree is something that right now he values more than his pro career. I don't think his decision to go back is a referendum on the Sabres, and that means Buffalo is still very much in the picture and I think is still his most likely destination. Portillo (and Levi) are just wired differently than most prospects it appears. File it under "goalies are weird"...

Goalies might be weird…but they can count. And they’ll count one net for two players needing to play minutes in the AHL. One of them can walk into any teams ahl net.

It just doesn't explain why Adams went from always including Portillo's name as part of the goaltending future to now just mentioning Levi.

And...if KA is actually still hoping that Portillo signs, he sure is being clumsy by talking up Levi and not mentioning Portillo.

He talked about portillo a lot today.
Ok if so then disregard my previous post.

wgr had a guy on a couple weeks ago to talk draft and he brought up the Sabres upcoming prospects and mentioned UPL and Levi in goal. They jumped right in and asked if he left out Portillo because he thought like many he was going to walk after the year. And he said…no…I just don’t think he’s as good a prospect.

so you can feel about it what you will. I chose laughter.

Who was this big brain?

Brock Boeser just signed a 3 year deal, 6.65M AAV. Bit of a down year this season, but still getting that AAV...Olofsson has to be happy about that deal...

What is the extent of Chad's sources? I know of him but not really much else. (also which one of you on here is him ;))

Interesting he thinks Dahlin will be next captain and Tuch will be long-term assistant.
He has no legitimate sources and imo it’s embarrassing that he has the following that he does.
