McKenzie’s list of polled scouts has the next rhd ranked 25th. Which is in line with most people‘s thoughts on it.
Yeah I want Chesley, but I'm willing to wait for #28 to get him.McKenzie’s list of polled scouts has the next rhd ranked 25th. Which is in line with most people‘s thoughts on it.
To keep reiterating how much you like Anderson at this point, shows KA is probably actually relying on Anderson as an option. That and the Bishop trade make it fairly clear what the overall mindset is going into next season. Yes, I will still wait to see what happens, but I'm not confident for now.
It’s not just the Anderson talking up that is the issue…but it’s the one everyone keeps referencing. The bigger problem is when he keeps saying they don’t want roadblocks for what they have in house. Which is…effectively…nothing. He’s laying out a scenario where they’re just handing UPL starts he has not earned and Anderson is their preferred veteran backup because he is liked in the room despite being a below average goalie.Meh. This is crap. It's just a sentimental statement. We cannot go with another season of Anderson as our #1. As our back up. Perhaps. But, I will be pissed if he's what we settle for as a #1.
I think a lot of folks are reading too much into this… Not blocking people could also mean not signing someone to a five-year deal, not referring to next year having 2 goalies ahead of UPL. I think everyone assumesthey know what Adams is thinking for next year but maybe his vision is more going forward and not for 2022 alone. We should probably let it all play out before we start freaking out…It’s not just the Anderson talking up that is the issue…but it’s the one everyone keeps referencing. And when they’re both injured as they usually are…it’s another year of whoever our next Dustin Tokarski is.
all so he can not block…kids who went back to college that don’t factor into the nhl lineup for years.
people keep saying well…if he’s the backup to one of the top UFAs or trades…brother…those are roadblocks. And the man talked openly about the cost of trading for a goalie being high. He’s talking about a backup to UPL

I'm not getting to wound up about it, If they feel more size and physical play is in their plan, and it lines up with ratings that's fine with me. Although personally after watrching the Av's I think we need speed and not in 3-4 years.*scours board to make sure it doesn’t say 6’4 > effort anywhere*
no worries from me. Geekie doesn’t play physical so I’m still safe.I'm not getting to wound up about it, If they feel more size and physical play is in their plan, and it lines up with ratings that's fine with me. Your level of hatred towards Geekie reminds me of my hatred towards Josh Allen leading up to the draft lolno worries from me. Geekie doesn’t play physical so I’m still safe.

KA said he has cards all over his officeC'mon now
You think they are going to spring for a huge chalk board like this?
they have a very efficient, economic, and effective scouting napkins.
Round 1 napkins came from Wendy's
Rounds 2-3 are paper towels Devine brought from home
Rounds 4-5 are on TP from the 200 concourse.
It used to be rounds 4-7 on TP, but Kevyn has gotten a little too used to the free burrito's from Moes.
Pham just did a 1-on-1 with Adams, his responses seemed much more guarded with a bunch of vague responses. However, there were a few interesting tidbits:
- He wouldn't commit to a goaltending plan at all. (The question started with Pham asking if they needed an answer from Anderson prior to July 13th)- He also wouldn't commit to UPL being up with Buffalo.- Re-emphasized how strongly they feel about the kids (particularly UPL & Levi)- Wouldn't commit to resigning Subban, sounds like they're just going to circle back with him once the dust settles after free agency- Hasn't heard from Portillo's camp about signing or not signing next year, supports his decision to go back to school, expects to meet with his reps next week at the draft. Expects to see Portillo at prospect camp this year, Portillo told him he would be there as of last week.- Expects everyone to attend prospect camp, they invited everyone that is eligible - including Quinn, Peterka and current NHLers (Power, Sammy, Krebs)I thought it was also interesting that KA referenced Bryson and Fitzgerald as part of their top 6. Now obviously that could just be him using past tense in reference to last year's group, but that's not the impression I got. I think our top 6 is pretty much set and they'll only be looking at a vet to add to the group.
Any guessses on the FA contract KA mentioned they are talking about ?
I think Adams sees VO as replaceable with Quinn.
It's their new mode of operation. Move out veterans so they don't block the development of the prospects. Why? Because they both score goals? Quinn wouldn't even occupy Olofsson's side on the PP.
a few Sabres topics from Friedman
In fairness, they haven't really done any of that. It's just speculation. I hope you aren't referring to Jack, Sam and Risto. It's their new mode of operation. Move out veterans so they don't block the development of the prospects.
