At this point you're hoping for May 1st opening day. We're not getting a full 162 are we?
That’s an odd move. Either he’s accountable for some losses he doesn’t want to be a part of or this was some weird play on his part. Doesn’t make much senseDerek Jeter has stepped down from.his management role with the Marlins and relinquished his ownership stake in the team.
I wonder if he gave them a gift basket.
We should be all over the Marlins for a young arm. We should have just what they needThe Marlins are closer to competing than people think.
They have an electric young pitching staff between Rogers, Alcantara, Lopez and Sixto. And then that's not even considering they have more guys in the pipeline like noted menace to virtual baseball society Edward Cabrera.
Bats are a hell of a lot easier to find than arms and the Marlins could probably realistically deal one of those guys if need be to strengthen their lineup.
You would be shocked to see the amount of zeroes attached to the TV deal cheques that they rake in yearly. You also have to take into account that half-a-stadium multiplied by 81 home games a year still leads to some large stacks of cash. Can someone care to explain how MLB is such a lucrative sport for the owners with half empty stadiums on most nights? Thanks
