If Pearson has enough value still to entice a more sure bet like Ramirez then to me its a no brainer that you can move someone you aren't counting on and has some question marks hanging over his head even though he could still become a gem.

But Ramirez no longer presents a need while Pearson still represents at the very least a long term shutdown reliever at worst and an ace pitcher at best. We got more offense and defense. 2B has enough depth. Time to address the bullpen.

He's not a big average guy, but I think he's going to rake 30+

Fills the void of Semien to a degree, and a full season of Springer should give the Jays plenty of power in their lineup. Really looking forward to seeing this squad.

Still gonna miss Semien. Having him at 2nd base with this line up with have been amazing.

So, what would people give up to add Jose Ramirez as the Jays second baseman?

Personally, I think as long as we hold on to two of Moreno, Groshins, Martinez, and Lopez, I'm willing to trade any prospects. I'd also be willing to talk Gurriel, Pearson, and Biggio as part of such a deal.

Chapman is a great addition. He will help Bo's weak right side, and without a doubt, will probably improve those offensive numbers playing at Rogers.

Realistically Pearson is probably one of those guys whos value has declined to the point where its more valuable for us to hold and bank on him rebounding so hes not someone we are likely trying to move. It would only be if another team insisted on him in a package that it would come into play.

I'd rather take a run at Correa and see if we can move Bo over to second. Big improvement to middle infield defense while allowing us to keep all of our prospects for another big add later through trade. Only problem with this is I don't know how Bo would take it moving over to 2nd and we still wouldn't have a quality lefty bat.

part of chapmans bad year last year could simply be the hip surgery. i think he could really turn it around here. hes also pounded the ball in toronto in his career.
The defense alone makes this trade a slam dunk, especially with how often our pitching staff (especially Ryu) induce groundballs to 3B. Chapman's bat could be average for all I care, he's still a defensive god.

Does Baerga strike twice in one day? He is the Blue Jay's Santa Claus, he always comes bearing gifts.

best ive felt about 3rd base defensively since scott rolen...

?? JD was 4th in Fangraphs overall defensive value for qualified 3B between 2015-2016.

Sure there were mixed results (great range, uzr/ terrible DRS), and he's no Chapman, but he was very strong defensively at 3B for us in our contending years.

I think the highest I'd go for Ramirez is Pearson+Kirk+Groshans.

Biggio would have to go too, I would think. No room for him since he doesn't have the defense on the left side to stick around as a utility guy.
