It's tough being a franchise mode gamer in general these days. We aren't a money maker, so more features get taken out as opposed to added.

MLB 22 is still two months away and Randy Johnson already has a penthouse in my head rent free.

Of all the legends they could have went out and gotten...why did it have to be the god damn Big Unit?

Also curious to see what happens to that game if we get a worst case scenario in terms of the lockout given that game relies a lot of live content based on season performance to keep itself afloat. Legends can only fill up so much given they don't have enough to fill a game with them.
You guys really need to start boycotting this crap. EA half-asses these games every year because they hope you buy them anyway...

I don’t like it. I’d prefer if both leagues had no DH. I just like seeing pitchers hit, but I do get why people don’t like the “easy out” (from the offensive side).

I used to like the uniqueness of pitchers hitting and the difference between the two leagues, especially during World Series and interleague games.

But seeing the number of quality pitchers going down to serious injure because of them hitting, I'm at the point where I'm good with seeing it gone.

EDIT: No issues at all seeing good hitting pitchers continue being used as pinch hitters.

Great start

I don't like eliminating draft pick compensation. Teams who sign guys having to give up picks is dumb, but there should be new picks given to teams who lose guys. It's the easiest solution ever. I cannot believe they've had 4 iterations of this and are now giving up on it without ever trying to obvious easy solution

Thing is... since 2000, there are exactly 6 pitchers who have at least 100 PA and a wRC+ higher than Ryan Goins.

I'm sure we'll see the odd one here and there, but even the best hitting pitchers usually aren't worth putting in for the worst hitting position players.

Madison Bumgarner, who is regularly referenced as evidence that not all pitchers suck at hitting, is just a couple points of wRC+ behind Jeff Mathis and Mike McCoy on the career list.

Now all they have to agree with is a cap system like every other sport and the ability to include draft picks in trades.

Those 2 things never made any sense to me.

thank god pitchers won't hit anymore. I kind of like the draft pick compensation though. It does help balance things a little but I'm sure the upper echelon guys hate it

Like was said earlier, the easy way to fix the issues with compo picks is that teams who lose significant players to free agency still get bonus compensatory picks but remove the loss of picks for signing big free agents. Now teams don't have to be gunshy about signing marquee FAs because of any sort of penalty while teams that struggle to keep their players still get the extra picks necessary to restock the cupboard.

That's what made the National League unique, though.

Hopefully very quickly. The players rave about him in every interview I've seen, and Dante isn't afraid to be candid since he has no reason to fear his corporate overlords.
What’s unique about pitchers hitting? Aside from the manager having to manage more? It’s a wasted bat in the lineup. So fun to watch a pitcher hit a ball every twenty at bats. I get the nostalgia but some things are better to go away
