If biggio is kept im predicting a career year on base machine

He did seem to come back hard at the end of the season. People need to remember this guy only has about 2 seasons' worth of experience, and the second one was a write-off due to injury and sophomore jinx. Even Vladdy needed a couple seasons to get right. Hell, he even got better defensively and nobody expected that. Surely Biggio can improve, and he's the versatile left hand at bat they keep whining about (which still strikes me as odd; with so many elite contact hitters on this team, who cares if they're not left handed? Yeesh).

not only that, you would have to think his value right now is probably near a all time low with the time missed and such.

he has upside, one thing this team and the management group has shown us over and over, since the rebuild started is one more year of holding on to a guy who struggles(even horrifically like rays prior season teo lourdes ect to name a few more) can pay dividends

I just want him kept on 2B. Moving him around and him playing 3B is dumb.

3rd seems to be out of his grasp but in small sample size he has done alright as a corner outfielder. but ideally yes you let him take his reps at second this season and let his work ethic and getting comfortable playing the one position he has primarily played and hope for the best

Yeah, he was a disaster at third.

Not so great at second, either, but then, so was Vladdy at his "preferred" position of 1st. *shrug* People can improve.

Hopefully, Manoah develops a decent changeup. Getting a third solid pitch would really elevate him.
I mean Berrios gets by without a good one. Because he uses his fastballs as 2 different pitches. The sinking one to his right of zone and the 4 seamer left. Manoah needs to do the same. They are both really good pitches, so if he can get that together watch out

Vladdy prefers 3rd.

So what? His "preferences" are what got him into trouble in the first place.

If anyone cares I just read Travis Snider retired. I had no idea he was playing.

Yeah, it's easy to forget he's was very young when he started and was still generally in his prime. Same with Aaron Sanchez. He's right where Ray was when he resurrected his career.

Id be interested in knowing a little more about this kid.

It's incredibly hard to evaluate these guys. They are incredibly young, so we are looking at pure potential (like Pardinho) with virtual 0 floors.

Also, not all the kids have the same opportunities. Some train privately to avoid injury and don't necessarily play as many games. This is part of why the relationships down there can be important.
