The screen was cut so we cant see much. When was that game and why was it the #1 game of the year ?
Mariners big comeback to beat us in wildcard game 2. Why? I dunno. Probably my fault somehow.

OK.I don’t recall that. For some reason I was thinking they played Tampa in that stupid wild card thing they do.
I am over Tampa Bay. I think we played them this year at The Trop way better than usual. I wanted to face them in Toronto in the wildcard.

PS- every baseball thread needs a little Charlie Kelly.

I suspect the Jays will be battling Tampa and the Yankees for a playoff spot again this year, assuming Boston and Baltimore are ready to compete.

Am I the only one who was never really a fan of Lourdes?
I didnt hate him. But he was not reliable. Last 2 years he barely played in september. That is when you need your best players to show up. He has hurt. Didnt really show his power all that much either. It was time to move on before you would get nothing in return.

His hot streaks were epic, but his slumps and terrible ball tracking in left were beyond frustrating.

He was capable of carrying the team for 2 week stretches once or twice a season with his bat, and he’d routinely make terrific throws to gun down aggressive base runners. Unfortunately though, about 80% of the time he did little to help the team win.

I don’t really care about the goofiness in the clubhouse. When you’re winning it’s fun and charismatic and when you’re losing it’s silly and unprofessional. Not sure it matters.

What I do worry a little about is Vlad’s relationship with the club and his teammates. From the outside looking in, he certainly seemed closest to LGJ and Teo (maybe Springer too). Does this impact him negatively in any way? Does it make him more serious and focused? I guess time will tell.

All that said, I like the moves we’ve made on paper and can’t wait to see them in the field.

Last year he didn't but in 2021 he played 26 games and it was by far him best month of the season with a .994 OPS.

I like this. Solid 4 a guy. Did we not trade him at the deadline last year?

No, DFA'd this offseason to make room for rule 5 protection

Who am I mistaking him for? It’s going to annoy me now. He started a few games for us last year and was pretty good and we traded him at the deadline

I'm a bit more concerned about McCutchen than I am about Pollock because of his sharp drop off as a platoon bat last year. Even though Cutch's defence is better, Idk if I'm taking Varsho or Kiermaier's defence out of the game to platoon Cutch (106 wRC+ against lefties). I know he murdered lefties in '20 and 21' but Pollock's 161 wRC+ against lefties last year is just so eye catching.

Would be curious to hear who y'alls ideal OF signing is.
