‘Juan Soto trade’: What Pirates want in Bryan Reynolds deal

Word is, the Pirates sought four top prospects from the Yankees, including multiple players from the top group that includes Oswald Peraza, Anthony Volpe and Jasson Dominguez.

One rival executive complained the Pirates are looking for a “Juan Soto trade” for Bryan Reynolds, who seeks a way out of Pittsburgh.

Reynolds does have three years to go in his contract, whereas Soto had 2 1/2, and Reynolds obviously makes much less money. But Soto is an elite player. Consider that the Pirates offered Reynolds about $76 million, while the Nationals offered Soto $440 million.

Another exec predicts Reynolds will stay now, based on the asking price, but holds hope for a deadline deal.

The belief is that the Pirates seek at least three to four top prospects (the Nationals got five for Soto). From the Yankees, who would be interested, that would likely mean multiple players from the top group that includes Oswald Peraza, Anthony Volpe and Jasson Dominguez.

I have some Cruz’s and Strider’s from 2022. All base cards and a couple short prints. I got a couple cool numbered cards (Donaldson auto), but nothing in the triple digits for value.

Honestly, opening these new boxes is absolute trash. I’ve been looking into just buying some vintage singles.

the main boxes you wanna buy with bowman chromes are crazy overpriced now.

I was able to get my hand on a hobby of the 2016 year, (Soto, Vladdy, Tatis.) debating playing the lottery and opening it.

Yep, been collecting since I was a kid. Rickey Henderson and Raines rookie cards are my two favorite baseball cards in my collection.

just the prices of certain players, you obviously have the JRod, Vladdy, Soto, Tatis. but the prices for James Wood etc bowman chrome cards are insanely priced.

Rumors coming out of random youtube fan channels is Bo might be on the move for a more defensively reliable SS. Seems like a rumor catches steam and everyone wants to comment on it. Hard to move a guy like Bo considering how good his bat is.

If he could just be OK at SS, the guy really is a one trick pony. Talks of moving him to second are pickign up steam.

Where do you buy unopened packs and boxes? Gosh I was a huge collector as a teen. Sold them all. . It was so fun opening packs. I don’t see them anywhere.

I agree. Even if an owner wants him on his team, he won't be accepted by the players on the team at least I hope.

I wouldn’t trade him unless it’s for a kings ransom. We would need a SS at the least coming back. I like Bo and think he’s very good.

I, 100% seeing someone signing Bauer especially for league minimum. Someone will take a gamble. Could be the Red Sox who need pitching and have some questionable characters on their team already. Twins are starving for pitching. Rockies are due for something stupid, it’s that time of the year.

Players who were suspended under MLB’s domestic violence policy and got second chances;

Aroldis Chapman
Julio Urias
Domingo German
Roberto Osuna
Steven Wright
Jeurys Familia

All got back in the league immediately after their suspension and many on this list got multiple contracts. Urias, Chapman and Wright immediately won WS that year or the year after.

Bauer may not get signed this year right away but I have a hard time believing no one will sign him ever.

I have 100 cases of Kasevich and Barriera chrome cards and parallels. + 50 boxes worth of first edition for the same players.
I have the black wave 1/1 non auto Luis Meza as well + a bunch of other parallels and around 140 base.

If anyone is looking for some lots of base cards hit me up lol
