GREAT f***ING TRADE

They got the best third round pick that they could possibly ask for, and they got a prospect that they've wanted in the organization for years.

Sacrificed accepting a second round pic to get a front of the line third rounder and a good prospect. Awesome trade

Brendan Brisson is who I really wanted instead of Braden Schneider. Hasn't exactly worked out for him but there's still a lot of talent there.

Think it’s fine for a rental forward, a high pick in the third and a lottery ticket.

Does feel like a great trade for Vegas though going for it.

Henderson is one of the worst teams in the AHL, worse than Hartford, so hopefully change of scenery trade for Brisson.

It's never apples to apples, but it's essentially replacing what they gave up to get him for a full year vs as a deadline rental.

Plus a young CENTURRR prospect that everyone has been clamoring for (though I don't know if he's been playing C for that org.)

That's a good return. The 3rd rounder is about what I was expecting. I'm not expecting much from Brisson, a smallish offensive forward who is not exactly tearing up the AHL at 23.

Brisson struggling in the AHL but a talented player. That and an early 3rd for Smith seems a pretty decent return.

I thought Reilly was alright---better than Wheeler last year anyway. No point going on with him though and his replacement is pretty much already in place.

Henderson sucks, but that's an absolutely garbage ass statline for a forward drafted in the 1st round of the National half a decade ago. I haven't watched a single second of this kid in the AHL this year, but there's just no contexto justification that could explain this in my mind, and lead me to believe he can do anything the Show.

Most likely a bust.

That said, you weren't getting any special prospect for rental Reilly Smith, of course.

The gears are always turning. Brisson skates into pressure to deploy a gravitational pull on the opposition and has the good sense to either quickly dispatch of the puck to a teammate in space or processes his way through it one defender at a time. He's the best problem-solving forward in the draft not named Alexis Lafrienière.
