Rangers can't take on that cap hit and Flyers are not looking to just get rid of Frost. Lindgren is an RFA and can be traded, without locking yourself into a contract that goes 7 more years. I don't think this makes sense for either club.

If we're trading with the Rangers, the Flyers gonna get more than exactly what they want, and if that ain't including a center, to say nothing of trading one, then you're further away than you think.

Take out Frost and it is closer.

Sanheim and a 2nd for Lindgren and Kakko is probably fair but the Flyers probably still don't do it.

Sanheim (waives clause) + Frost

for

Lindgren + Kakko
Rangers fans are gonna be surprised how little they get for Kakko this summer. He hasn’t been much better than Nichushkin or Zadina were for Dallas and Detroit, at the same age. One had his contract terminated because there was no market for him, and the other was bought out.

With his qualifying offer being $2.4 million and being arbitration eligible, good luck even getting a 3rd Round pick at this point.

Yuck. Not even a Frost fan and I wouldn't do this.

Yeah. I don't really think much of Frost. I think he's a dime a dozen tweener. But i still don't understand exactly what Philly are getting out of this trade.

concur w/this ^, note seems all replies agree to disagree, one side or the other.
Lindy + 2024 3rd to UT for 2 2nds, flexible about when

we are keeping KK, who works with Cuylle, just need a pivot if Chytil -- remains to be seen -- can't show up. Not gonna sell cheap while we still have options, also bread is gone after next season, need to keep Ws w/potential upside, not deal them in stupid win now which doesn't work

no interest in frost

IF Phila wants to move San based on cap,
then a core of Goodrow going the other way makes sense to get cap hit down to like 3+

If they are stupid enough to not listen to me, and instead deal him, then bold is true. But my hope is we are keeping KK, who works with Cuylle, just need a pivot if Chytil -- remains to be seen -- can't show up. Not gonna sell cheap while we still have this route to go down

Nothing makes me want to move our top pair affordable D-man more than Goodrow. MMMMM so hard to resist that.

Was Kakko good 2 years ago?
If you count this season as over, then sure, he was good that season. But I think the poster is probably referring to being younger and still viewed as reaching that potential.

The Panthers are a great example of a team that took talented underperformers and put them in a position to blossom.

Tippett is a good example as well of a guy who could find it but has carved a nice role in a new situation. Kakko was picked 2nd overall for a reason, but the Rangers have not been a good spot for him.

I don't think they'll move him unless it's in a hockey trade.

If he was really dime a dozen, then we should have a bunch of guys on the Flyers who can produce offense and also have good defensive numbers under Tortorella while he's running the league's worst Powerplay and the league's worst Overtime offense. But we sure don't.
