How the hell are Ethan Werek and Ryan Sproul on team China? Oh and Jake Chelios? WTF
short version: they have been planning for this for a while, there is a KHL team in China (Kunlun Red Star) they have been recruiting players, then granting players dual citizenship, to represent China.

cool thread. Can we make this the official Olympics thread.

Germany took its sweet time announcing the roster. And very nice, almost the same squad as as in 2018!

i had hoped the Olympics "prefix" could be used but it did not seem to be available in our NYR board

ha i had forgotten Ambuhl had an NYR contract the year he played w Hartford
Rangers agree to terms with Andres Ambuhl
guess i didn't need the 'Pack citation in subject, all were NYR picks or contracts

Another euro that bailed when things didn’t go his way. They should just draft Europeans that already in North America, or Europeans that are mature and stay in North America. at least Filip Chytil didn’t go back to Europe when he was bounced around between the AHL and NHL.

damn the KHL's alignment is worse than the Florida teams being in the Atlantic

It became quite clear from his season in the AHL that Ambuhl didn't have much of a future here. We chose not to qualify him after the season. He then those, at age 27, to return to his homeland (one of the best places to live on earth) and play for his hometown team where he made more money, was treated to better amenities, and is a top player in the league and his team's captain going on eight consecutive years now.

He didn't bail.

Too bad nobody (except Steven maybe) remembers the legandarily named Swiss forward Adrian Wichser.

Which translates literally to Adrian Jerkoff.
