Anyone explain why he must go on waivers after signing? Maybe the Rangers are planning on sending him to their AHL affiliate.

From the looks of it, he hasn't played overseas this year so I don't believe he has to pass through waivers due to that.

Smart, decent player that can contribute to the bottom six. If stuck on a line with scoring talent he won't embarrass himself, and knows where and how to play when in a checking line. He should be one of the top players in the AHL.

Decent speed and puck skills. Not small, but smallish. He's not the most physical.

Fontaine should be in KHL already... Wasting years in useless pursuit of NHL.

Weak top6 type player that is just not good enough. Likely to be over point per game in the AHL, so good signing for Rags.
