Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. and he’s honestly right. and it’s pissed me off since the bubble games against carolina last year.
I thought perhaps just a change in coach would help things out. maybe it would’ve, maybe it wouldn’t’ve. dolan wants to change the whole culture from the top down. if that’s all, I respect that and stand behind it 100%. if it’s to do something moronic like trade some of our quality young guys for Eichel or some over the hill vet, that’s a big problem. Dolan is 100% right in saying this team is soft, and the Islanders ran us over.

Because of the overall decline in board quality over the last few years.
I mean think about how many names you see posting less and less on here.
The discussions on many topics just degrade so quickly these days. Ans we’re not necessarily replacing some of the members we lose with new members who are equally as engaged. At least on a deeper level.

I think that's a cult for some people and they would say it even if the Rangers iced six cyborgs who hunt terrorists, compete in MMA, and play 60 minutes a game.
So allow me to back it up with some metrics.
Guys getting 22 minutes because they deserve 22 minutes:

These two never had problems like this. That's why we kept/acquired them. This developed under the current coach.

I don't know how we got such negative opinions about that article. Other than an offhand comment about us competing for a Stanley Cup that meant nothing other than being a positive owner (as someone said "owner speak") everything we wanted answered was answered positively. This had nothing to do with the statement or even Wilson. He was thinking about it 20-30 games ago and even was considering not making the move due to the timing. He also explained logically why he wanted to let them go prior to the end of the season.
Yet all I see are negative takes on it. I know he's not well liked or respected but he came off as well as he could have. For the time being I personally am off the ledge and satisfied.

Im not even that mad about the stanley cup comments because we do have a talented roster, there just something not right about it atm

Well it's surely went to shit since Monday. But other than that to be honest with you, IMHO the board the last two years are much better. With some rare exceptions the moderation has been a lot more reasonable. I personally would rather be told to go f*** myself by a poster, especially with the ignore feature available than walk on egg shells with every post fearing an infraction that would restrict my rights arbitrarily.

Eh, Ive been seriously posting on this board since 2017 and I don’t think things have gotten THAT much worse. This season might be a bit more tense but like honestly basically from game 1 on its been a bit of a circus with everything that has gone on.

I think that’s kind of when it started to slide. Maybe 2016. As the site itself died there was definite trend. We’re not getting people signing up like we used to either.
If we dealt in reality instead of ITK fantasy land this place would be a lot less muddy. Or did you have this news in advance of this happening? I may have missed it.
It’s a sad but true statement. I become less interested in conversing here every year as the people I liked conversing with most slowly disappear. And I’ve only been here since 2013. Can’t imagine how the people that’ve been here since the Dark Ages feel.

It's still a good place to talk hockey compared to at large social media, but I see what Edge is saying.
We had our problems back during my first few years but the bad faith and blatant trolling is just a lot more mainstream now. Every thread turning into ADA part 69 is probably the best example.
Back in '12, '13, 14', '15, there would be zero discussion about him. Done. Period.

A truly golden era. Where we all got along, held annual board awards and played the player elimination game every summer, and we all argued endlessly about the merits of Tanner Glass and Adam Clendenning.
I used to work for 247. I know what ITK people look like. They profit off their ITK status. This is HFBoards. There is no ITK going on here. Just people posing as such. It doesn't create the toxicity but it definitely contributes.
