For what it's worth, here in peace to show solidarity vs Tom Wilson but also to mourn (not mock) your collective WTFing about the leadership sacking.

Maybe there's a price to pay after all for that magic Laf lottery ball? Doesn't bear thinking about from a pure sporting standpoint, irrespective of team.

I'm not surprised about Groton. I had a feeling he was gone at the end of the season. But JD is a shock. He is NYR royalty.

I agree losing JD makes me sick to my stomach. Maybe because he was synonymous with this franchise more than anything else?!
Other than being angry at first apathy is starting to set in honestly. This year has been exhausting and honestly not much fun when in fact it should have been a lot of fun with having possibly two of the youngest most talented players in franchise history for the next 10-15 years.
I just pray Drury continues to hold the fort on building for the future and not making any stupid moves.

Living in a bizarro world right now.

This is just so embarrassing, upsetting, and unsettling. Honestly ruined my day.

I know this "screams Dolan" and it in all likelihood is, but I don't get just blanket ruling out that Bettman (i.e. 31 other owners) are behind this via pressure on Dolan after the statement. The timing and lack of other response from the league is way too suspicious. I'm not gonna take a few immediate tweets (via league mouthpieces) to rule that out. And if that is the case, I am 100% out.

The fact that the nhl was silent the entire time after the statement has me feeling that Bettman just went Michael Corleone here and settled all family business.

I wonder if Gorton was on the hot seat to begin with. Didn’t it feel like Drury was waiting in the wings anyway? Perhaps this has been stewing for some time.

Maybe Dolan had some timeline in his head, or some other expectation for this season and it wasn’t met. I don’t know, I’m speculating here and trying to unpack all of this. It’s wild. Not the news I was expecting to read today.

This Board is as much over the top as Dolan. Please stop the ADA crap. He deserved what he got and should never be part of this team again. He lost, and rightfully so, the respect of the team for his clown antics. And please before we have everyone being traded to Buffalo lets see what really happens. Drury is a good hockey mind, so much so that he was in demand elsewhere. Finally if JD/JF didn't want to fire Quinn then its on them. He needs to be gone the day after the season ends otherwise this team will never move forward.

I hate this so much. I'm slightly relieved that Drury is going to be calling the shots but I worry he won't be able to resist the Dolan meddling. I really appreciated JD and JG.

Can Tom Wilson fire a puck into Dolan’s suite and hit that drug addicted wannabe rock star?
I met him during one of his drunken his on Long Island back in the late 90's.

It wasn't pretty is all I'll say.

Don't want him fu**ing with my pension.

You don't fire the GM if you are cool with the status quo. Dolan will want changes made. And those changes won't be subtle.
I'm afraid you're right. But I think Gorton was already going to make some big moves this offseason. Seems like a really inopportune time to make the change.

I have a feeling this is about Dolan wanting Eichel and Gorton saying "no". That's why the coach is still here - they have a relationship.
