If Gorton and JD were unwilling to stand up for Panarin/Buch against Wilson/the league because they want to stay in the good graces of the NHL old boys club, then good riddance
I'm not sure it was to stay in the good graces of the old boys club, but it was the manner in which the news and message was being delivered - is my guess. Both JD and GMJG know that the Wilson fiasco is a fiasco. Doesn't mean they have to do what Dolan did or agree with how he did it.

This organization let a slimeball and f***ing loser like this implode itself. Sad. Just embarassed to be a 'fan' right now.

I mean, if I was owner, if for no other reason I wouldn't have let it look like that piece of trash is winning.

Can someone please tell me that there's no chance in hell that we'd trade Laf, Kakko or Fox? Please, someone at least tell me that. Promise me that. Tell me a lie if you have to.
Fox is probably the only untouchable right now

It is really shocking to remove the GM and the President before removing the coach. Like, it's beyond logic to proceed that way.

If you're not happy with the on ice results, you don't fire the front office that put together quite a good amount of talent on paper, at least not first. You try a new coach and if they still stink then you move to the front office.

Dolan really wilding out right now.

like I get this argument. I don’t know if I totally agree with it, but it has to be done.

but now there are all these other rumors that stink to high heavens and are extremely upsetting.

is dolan going to continue to control freak the team the way he’s recently done to the knicks? is he going to force a jack eichel trade? is he going to trade our young stars?

it’s incredibly sad what happened.

I mean if you’re DQ, why would you even want to stay?

He's gone too...theyll just wait til seasons end for him. To me this is likely all about the lack of push back on this team and the unwillingness for Gorton and Davidson to add it.

I really like Drury as the GM I feel like he's a solid hockey mind.

That being said, I don't want Messier anywhere near upper level management. Hiring him for any role outside of brand ambassador would be a massive mistake.

So stupid. If Dolan is going to take a more hands-on approach with the Rangers we are SCREWED.
Yep, the worst thing that could happen to the Rangers is having Drury as a puppet GM. That's what the Flyers got when the owner ran out of patience for a true reuild and fired Hextall and hired Fletcher looking for quick fixes (Hayes, Niskanen) and a return to the playoffs. Lasted all of one year before they missed the playoffs again.

There's only one logical explanation and it fits the narrative: Dolan wanted this message out and the top two lieutenants didn't want to back it. Gonzo. And there, in one fell swoop, goes the credibility that was being built up with the fanbase since "the letter" regarding the rebuild.
Who's going to want to work for this organization after this? No one worthwhile, that's for sure.
I am really hoping that this is what happened.

Literally any other rationale or explanation for this is very alarming as a lifetime supporter of this team.

Two things to consider:

1. Did they know about it and what is it they didn’t agree with after the fact?

2. Do you think Drury has autonomy after a move like this?
Is point two something you are questioning out loud about bc you're unsure or something you are questioning bc you know he doesn't have that autonomy?

I am skeptical Drury will automatically be a figurehead here, he has had numerous chances to move on to other jobs yet he was kept here. I know this is a high profile job but why would he stay here just to have his hands tied and follow instructions to tear down everything he has been a part of building here recently?

ha you think so? Neither of them would be near a powerplay they’d be doing nothing like every other top kid that Quinn gets his hands on. Kravtsov man that kid looked great for two weeks until he learned “the system”

In terms of a collection of talent? Yes I still think so.

The Quinn issue would still need to be resolved of course.

that’s my big worry. I mean maybe friedman was right and they didn’t stand up for dolan, your team, and two of your best players. I hope he’s right. I hope the truth comes out. and I hope dolan stays the f*** away from the team’s decision making.

I need multiple sources for this.

The fact that the nhl made no statement, or even acknowledged it on the nhl network last night reeks to me that this is Bettmans doing.

I just need more sources and news to come out. Something doesn't add up.
