With the re-signing of Brock Nelson, Drury is now locked in as the 4C. Rangers could use him as a 3C.

To COL:
Sam Carrick
Brennan Othmann

To NYR: Jack Drury

Carrick slots in as a solid 4C and COL gets a prospect who imo pencils out as a bottom 6 winger

Drury right now is likely the 4C, but he’s already probably slotted as the 3C as soon as the year after when Coyle’s contract is done.

No thanks. Jack is probably worth a 4th at present. Maybe a 3rd.
I'd put Carrick and Othmann over that value. If the Rangers wanted Drury, they should have drafted him. They had every excuse to with their obsession with pedigree drafting and Chris Drury being the AGM then. Instead we got Olof Lindbom who was such a reach at #39 OA. Thanks Nick Bobrov.

Sabres will gladly beat this 3rd or 4th valuation .....

I can see that. Every team's scouts (and their fans) will have different reports on players. He has 3rd center potential but 3rd/4th is more like his current price IMO. You may have a bright "scouting report" that suggests otherwise and therefore you are willing to invest more.

Besides, Carrick was previously traded for a 1st. His value is clearly much higher! :naughty:
AND he's coming off a career year.

IMHO, Drury ain't special enough to pay a potential sniper with attitude
I'd rather give Otter a shot under new staff

and Carrick is ideal 4C anyway, at a very fair cost
move him, and you're looking to replace

Don't know nearly enough about Othmann to comment on the trade itself, but I don't think the Avs are that incentivized to move Drury, even after the Nelson signing. The Avs made moves for both Nelson and Coyle at the deadline after already adding Drury, which indicates to me that they want four line centre depth (as they should). Coyle's contract expires next offseason and Drury should be in a prime position to take over that spot then.

I don't think the Avs have much appetite to trade Drury away, the guy has been absolutely awesome in Colorado. Coyle/Drury as your bottom six centers is fantastic depth.

There are other areas of the roster they can cut at to free cap space, I doubt they trade away a center this summer.

Not interested at all from the Avs point of view.

The Avs clearly value Center depth quite highly. We've essentially spent all of Rantanen's money down the middle.

Having Drury as a 4C and someone capable of jumping up to the 3C spot if needed, with the potential to be a full time 3C maybe next year, is something we value a lot. We're not about to trade him away for a weaker option and a boom/bust likely bust prospect.

It's not. Like most of your proposals, it's pure ass.
