Sully is worthy of being recycled. He's a good coach who reached his shelf life in Pittsburgh half a decade ago. Will he fit with the NYR roster? That remains to be seen. But he has two cups, it's not like Mike Johnston is getting hired or anything. lol

I would wish him the best, but if he indeed lands in NY like has been expected for a long, long time... well, I hope he loses every game and lands on his feet at nearly any other franchise outside of the Metro.

I fully understand the Rangers signing Sullivan, but hiring Tortorella as an assistant makes no sense to me.

1. He failed as head coach there before.
2. Dude is like 70 years old.
3. He's coming off a shitty tenure with the Flyers.
4. He hasn't been an assistant coach since at least the 1990s

Sure it's just Sullivan's buddy joining him in NY, but I really don't get why Tortorella is really interested in the role at all nor do I understand why the Rangers want him back.

i honestly dont hate torts as an assistant, feel like he adds value in ways for sure but as the #1 guy he’s just too much. sullivan isnt mr sunshine but he’s def not as unhinged as torts
