I feel like every bottom feeder in the league should put in a claim for an “All Tools, No Toolbox” player like Gauthier.

If a guy with his size, speed and shot happens to go on a PDO bender, you could probably flip him for a fourth round pick at the deadline.

Hard to say. Guys like Tuch, Kreider, Greenway and Wilson etc. probably still fit that mold, but they play with more finesse and timing than the traditional “drive the net with two defensemen slashing your hip” power forwards of the past.

Gauthier is one of those guys that gets fans excited for what he could be but never produces to justify the excitement.

I hope Gauthier gets claimed, because ever since Roy has arrived he's been given zero leash.

What a waste. Guy was gifted with physical tools, has no heart. This dude could make a living taking Dmen wide and driving to the net because you almost have to take a penalty or let him go by. He could put your team on the PP 2-3 ties a night, and a guy who could do that will always find himself in the lineup.

He got one game after beating out Wahlstrom in camp for the starting job (who played three games and was either a complete ghost or stood out in a negative way).

GOATither can find a job in the big leagues, but it needs to be in the right situation (with NYI it was not.).
