I found him to have the skills but he seemed lost to many times on the ice. If a coach can figure out how to get him to use his skills more wisely he could be a good defenseman for that price

Depending on what he’s asking for, not resigning DeAngelo would be foolish. He played extremely well for us.

I don’t see it as an either/or situation. Dobson can’t be the only offensive player on the Isles backend. Boqvist is a 7th D/bottom 6 wing for Roy until/if he shows he can be more.

DeAngelo can QB a PP, Dobson has shown he cannot. He had the largest share of TOI of all defensemen on the team in his 35 games. Unless he’s asking for a lot of money or was a problem off ice(nothing like that was reported, granted it was under Lou’s cone of silence) , bringing him back should be a no brainer

Depends how do the Islanders use the capspace and what is the return for Dobson. If they trade Dobson DeAngelo is basically a stopgap
