Please take him. That takes the option out of Trotz's hands next season too.The Sharks could have interest in claiming Hinostroza. They may want another cheap veteran in case they rent out Kunin.
He played on the second line last night. Waived the next day.Fantastic!
I know he was tearing up the AHL in Milwaukee, but he frankly does nothing useful at the NHL level. He's 30 years old, and good for him for being a superstar at the AHL level. He can make his $450,000 per year there, and that's a sweet life for a guy who has done this well at the game over the years.
But the Predators really shouldn't be wasting icetime on this guy. And they've been throwing him onto the 2nd line a lot too. Which for a 30th place team is unconscionable... just promote a younger player with any kind of upside into that opening. Hinostroza isn't an NHL player, and never will be. But we absolutely love having him in Milwaukee, so nobody should poach him!
These are the things that really matter. I mean, the guy got almost 400 NHL games, and he's still an "ace" AHL level hockey player making $450k per year playing a game. That's still a HUGE win in life, no matter how you slice it.for an undersized kid from a crummy part of Chicago, he's carved out a nice career so far
Bartlett, IL is a crummy part of Chicago? It's a pretty typical suburb with household income well above the national average, where about half the kids at the local public HS go directly to a 4-year university, and another 45 % or so go to a 2-year school at which point many of those will transfer to a 4-year university, and then misc. go to trade school/military and a handful into the workforce. He also played on the Mission AAA team where a lot of other future NHL players have passed through.for an undersized kid from a crummy part of Chicago
