Confirmed Trade: [NSH/NJD] Erik Haula for Jeremy Hanzel and 2025 4th round pick

We dont need one
Yeah they do. Someone likely will be miscast in the top 6 this year right now, I think. I don't really want Mercer there, or Noesen. But I'm not sure how many teams actually have 6 top 6 caliber players. They can live if Mercer is there.

Appreciate Haula's time here but it was up.

Devils need a 3C who can play up in the lineup when needed. Haula couldn't do that anymore and he was too expensive to bury on the 4th line.

Curious to see what we do, I know the team has been interested in Pius Suter from what I've heard ( not 1st hand info im not a insider ) and the Devils were still talking to NSH about RoR recently, are those dead now ? Is it what ultimately turned into the Haula deal ? Dunno.

You'll get a resigned Cody Glass and like it

Colton will be traded to his hometown of NJ on July 1st when his NTC changes to a modified-NTC so that NJ has another forward.
NJ isn’t a town, doofus. But it seems just right to get him, since he grew up a Devils fan and has said it would be cool to play here.

We need a supporting cast to show up more than anything. Yes an add but no dumb hugh dollar long term add bc Fitz thinks its the only way, it's not.

Sort of a weird spot to call out a trade, as a single transaction it makes sense. Haula is the kind of guy that can help your bottom6 out and will likely get more than a 4th on TDL if things go that way.

But sure, as a series of moves, its not a good look on Preds. They come out as having no direction or plan how to move forward, swinging it by as it comes and wasting assets in the long run doing so. So get the frustfration in big picture.

But as its the first move for season 2025-26 for them, why not think this as a small move that starts taking the org in the right direction instead of piling it up on the 2024-25 season. Gotta wait out a bit and judge an offseason as a whole.
