Yeah, I’m in the same boat, but the fact is if you’re gonna suck for McKenna…
There will be free warm bodies available in two weeks. We can also flip them at the deadline. Trading a pick and prospect, even not great ones, is awful asset management. We need someone to put on the ice if/when we trade Sissons, ROR, Marchessault, etc. and he can be flipped for another low pick at the deadline.
Nashville is the real retirement home.
Maybe I'm wrong but didn't they just trade a 2nd for Kevin Hayes last year?Okay? The Penguins have the same amount but they’re not trading draft picks for shitty 34 year old players.
Nashville fans have not understood what Trotz is doing for quite awhile. In theory this could be to get a replacement for Sissons/ROR if they are traded, but why bother? Just sign someone.not trying to troll at all, but can a Nashville fan give us perspective on why they'd want Haula? Would you expect this is setting up a more significant trade?
How many are going to want to sign here after last season? There will be free warm bodies available in two weeks. We can also flip them at the deadline. Trading a pick and prospect, even not great ones, is awful asset management.

Haula is a serviceable player still, if he has a half decent season he could return more than a 4th with retention
Potentially doesn't make sense for the Devs either. They are already cap strapped (Luke extension and difficult to move contracts with restrictive clauses). They were light on Center depth before this and have ZERO Centers in the pipeline. So now the Devs desperately need 2 Centers with still limited cap. Idk why you'd make this move before being certain you could get at least 1 top 9 C (that isn't Cody f'n Glass). GM Tom Fitzgerald's kink is dealing from weakness with the least leverage possible though so....makes no sense to me from an Nashville POV.
Don’t worry the league has already said Pittsburgh is getting McKenna no matter how awful other teams are.Why are the Nashville Predators of all teams trading draft picks for declining 34 year old players
How many capable centers signed a 1 year deal with terrible, rebuilding teams last year? Zero. Duchene and Roslovic were the only remotely noteworthy centers that signed a 1 year deal period. There will be free warm bodies available in two weeks. We can also flip them at the deadline. Trading a pick and prospect, even not great ones, is awful asset management.
Mercer can play center can't he?Potentially doesn't make sense for the Devs either. They are already cap strapped (Luke extension and difficult to move contracts with restrictive clauses). You're right, but it was a multi year deal. I still think you are over valuing a 4th round pick here. Nashville still has 6 picks before they would have made that oneThey got paid a 2nd to take on Hayes, they didn’t pay a 2nd for Hayes.
TBD. He hasn't played at Center much in the NHL. Did a bit after Jack Hughes went down again, but wasn't serviceable at the dot among other struggles. Hughes takes faceoffs at a pathetic 38% clip and has shown no desire to give a shit about them and be serviceable at the dot (say, 45% or so). This in part leads to Hischier getting the most brutal deployments of any top 6 C in the league. Haula was literally the only other NHL faceoff caliber player on the entire roster........Mercer can play center can't he?

We dont need oneThe devils still don't have the money to sign a big ufa, tbh
And right on cue…
Haula isn’t leverage, Devils needed center depth with him on the roster just as bad as they do now with him off lmao
Faceoffs are fake in 90% of game situations, next question.Haula took the 2nd most faceoffs on the team and was 1 of 2 guys on the entire roster with over 400 faceoffs taken and above a 40% win rate. The other was Hischier. Try again bud.
Classic BS from the usual suspects. Getting rid of Erik Haula is such a huge W, there is zero downside to thisAnd right on cue…

So clueless. Minimum threshold. Why do you think Hischier had the toughest deployments of any top 6 C in the entire league and took 1800 faceoffs.....Faceoffs are fake in 90% of game situations, next question.

Sorry, some of us like to live in reality and actually understand hockey at least a little bit. If you dont think this messes up your matchups, usage, and deployments at a minimum, I can't help you.Classic BS from the usual suspects.
