Went with Neidermayer because Makar's win was much closer. Makar didn't even have the most 1st place votes, Josi had 98 to Makar's 92. Comparatively, Neidermayer had 72, and 2nd place Chara had only 19.

Compared to the field, Neidermayer's win was much more dominant.

Niedermayer was my favorite player growing up but Makar wins.

Nieds gets the Toews treatment on HF where he's underrated because the media talks so much about him and reflects so highly on his career (same media who votes on the awards that are so important in analyses here lol), and he deserves a lot more love for how good he was, but this goes to Nate MacKinnon's second favorite Cale.

I'd go with Makar but peak Niedermayer, short as that period was, was excellent as well.
