Watching him play his first game live against NY, the first thing that popped out to me was how SOLID and POISED he looked in the defensive zone. There was a point when he was in his end with 2 fore checkers applying pressure on him. He was able to deftly avoid both of them while keeping control of the puck and then made a great outlet pass to the forward exiting the zone. It's rare to see a guy so poised and confident in the defensive zone like that, especially in his first ever NHL game. He's going to be an important part of our blue line moving forward. He's in the mold of a modern shut down d-man -- agility, mobility, passing and IQ are his staples.
