We get the lower of the two picks Carolina owns. Toronto's pick is top 11 protected, so if they draft 9, 10 or 11 they keep their pick and we get the Canes pick no matter what

The way I see it, the only way we can win #1 is for NYR to lose and win with their own pick. I don't believe its possible to win #1 with Carolina's - regardless of what Toronto does. Toronto CANNOT finish inside the top 10 unless they win #1 - right? Which means no matter what, Carolina would retain a winning #1 pick.

This gets so confusing lol
