No European players in ECHL?

I have been wondering a while that why any European players are not going overseas to play in the ECHL? Because evrey year lots of good ECHL players come play to Europe but only European players in ECHL are usually under NHL contract.

Looking over the playoff rosters, it looks like there actually were a few Europeans playing in the ECHL last year, but you are right that there aren't many.

But, regardless, why would they come over here? It's one thing if they're an NHL or AHL team's prospect pool and just got recently demoted, but I can't really think of a reason why they'd come over just to play in the ECHL. Pay's not very good and the level of play is lower than many European leagues, so might as well stay home and play at a higher level for better pay.

Peter Sivak, second in points, is from Slovakia.
He is something special. His wife is working as a nurse in San Francisco. Also he decided he will follow her and signed with Bulls. Last summer he signed with Alaska Aces.
In regard to salary. Yes, its not so special. But then you could ask, why are Europe players in CHL, SPHL or even in FHL?

The wages are crap, that's why most of the top tier ECHL talent that isn't going to consistently make an AHL roster jumps for worse leagues or some better leagues in Europe.

The cap structure in the ECHL doesn't really allow you to make enough to make a living playing hockey, which is why a lot of guys just hang them up to follow other pursuits, whether it's going back to school or other jobs.
