Would Lehner interest NJD?

Not sure if VGK is looking to move on from, though.

Devils don’t need LHD .
First and foremost need a goalie , but after that it’s RHD and power / heavy / interior forwards .
However Theodore would be a very nice upgrade on the left side . Just not sure if stylistically he is the best fit , worthy of giving up our 1st for .
I’d rather use the 1st if Jiricek /Nemec is still available when drafting . If they are gone , then possibly look at trading the puck but I would prefer to use it on a RHD or package the pick for a player like Tkachuk

Devils cannot afford to gamble on yet another season destroyed by their goalie (s) being injured . Lehner’s injury history scares me enough that although he would be a massive upgrade , it’s too risky for the Devils. I’d rather make a smaller deal for Thompson maybe ( still too risky if he can be relied upon for a full season though )

There is zero chance Vegas is moving Thompson. Lehner for Blackwood straight up is the only deal I could see making sense between these teams.

Did OP edit the trade? Everyone is talking about Lehner but he's not in the OP deal
No edit…did not include…too much of a gamble. I feel that there is a corresponding move that could exist with severson? attracting a goalie…devils in a bit of a bind with Blackwood and bernier

Why would Vegas trade one of their best dmen to open up cap space?

(Unless they want to shake things up and change their mix on D, which is always a possibility with them I guess!) ...but have to think Theodore stays put.

Also don't think he's the right target for NJ, they have plenty of offensively inclined D (even if they're not necessarily as good as Theodore)

To the OP from a Vegas perspective, no way. Vegas needs cap space but Theo is near the bottom of the list of possibilities to make it happen.

It's going to go Lehner, Dadonov, Pacioretty in that order. Brossoit is also a guarantee.

Vegas would do that deal the second it was offered. Not sure how it really makes sense for NJ. Zacha produces at the same rate at less than half the cost.
Still not great but yes a better option . I can’t see a need for either team

Vegas probably has to add but, it'd be the base of a deal. (Maybe Patrick and a pick from NJ)

Zacha could try to get more money than NJ feels he's worth and would be wise to send him out while he still has some semblance of value

Try and move Zacha's rights for some help on the right side D. PK is gone and Walsh does not look to be ready enough yet. Start next season with a Smith-Walsh pairing could be rough. Maybe Walsh to TBL for Cal Foote IDK! Walsh makes more rn ($100K) but has an extra yr on Foote

I don't really think TB would be overly interested in Zacha though, maybe Jett Woo from Vancouver?

Ehh as a devils fan I decline. A top 5 pick is worth a ton & Sharangovich a cheap 30 goal scorer who fits right next to Hughes. Zacha is just meaningless.
lol at 30 goal scorer so were just making things up now?

Vegas needs cap space, devils have it:

To nj :
Theodore
Marchsssault

To VGK
First 2022
Zacha
Sharangovich

Thoughts?
If the Knights move Theodore they’re getting a big time winger in return. I actually think they might move him in their shake-up this summer, but not for the major asset in return being 2-3 years away from even helping the team. If they were canning it than maybe but they probably aren’t including a 50-60 point core player along with him.

It’s probably reasonably fair with that pick being where it’ll be, but minus JM. Theodore didn’t have a great season but he is a top pairing dman in his prime. The Knights have shown no signs of tearing it down though.

Lol no I'm not making things up. Anyone who watches Sharangovich knows if paired with Hughes he is a 30 goal player. He has 24 goals right now in 74 games. This is also with him having a terrible start to the season.

lol none of what you just wrote makes him a 30 goal scorer. He's closer to a 20 goal scorer than he is to a 30 goal scorer.
