Prospect Info: Nine Prospects on the Clock

Habs have 1 year to make a decision on the following prospects. I doubt we see any of them signed early as we'll likely be close to the 50 contract limit. Guessing only 3 or 4 of them get a contract a year from now.

June 1, 2024:
Jared Davidson --> Leaving WHL Seattle. Guessing AHL contract
Cedrick Guindon --> Back to OHL Owen Sound
Petteri Nurmi --> Surprised he needs to be signed next year. Back to SM-liiga HPK
Vincenz Rohrer --> Back to OHL Ottawa
Miguel Tourigny --> AHL Contract signed

August 15, 2024:
Blake Biondi --> Back to NCAA Minnesota-Duluth
Rhett Pitlick --> Back to NCAA Minnesota
Ty Smilanic --> Back to NCAA Wisconsin
Luke Tuch --> Back to NCAA Boston University

Do you see any of them playing somewhere else in 23-24? Who eventually gets a contract?

I see Davidson, Tuch offered a contract, Rohrer & Guindon their final junior season will decide. Tourigny will receive an AHL contract and the rest unsigned.

Pretty sure Nurmi has one more year... not sure about Kapanen though.

Biondi, Pitlick & Smilanic are highly unlikely to be signed.

Tuch & Davidson are probably signed.

We'll see what Guindon & Rohrer do in junior this year. Might sign only one.

Davidson gonna play at AHL level next season.

Tuch is far from being of his brother's caliber. If they have enough contracts space, maybe...But no big deal if they don't.

I wouldn't say Biondi is unlikely.. he had a good year the prior year. He has the ability to get signed if he plays well next year.

They're all pretty much up in the air right now IMO , even Smilanic could end up having a great comeback season and earn his ELC. Pitlick looked dead in the water for a while but his good 22-23 is keeping his hopes alive, to the point where he could get his ELC now if he keeps his momentum going. I agree Davidsson will probably start with an AHL contract and go from there if he does well.
