I just got a pair of these, the pair I used before were Nike Bauer Vapor XII's which were 1/2 size too big. The One55's fit perfectly, the only thing is it's extremely hard to lace them up, I had waxed laces on my vapors, but I could lace them up no problem, the one55's though, I can't get any leverage on them, I put waxed laces on these, too...what's going on with that? Am I going to have to get a lace puller?

Another question: what's the process of baking the skates? you put your foot in and lace them up like normal? or do you do it another way?

thanks

Don't lace by pulling the laces up. Lace by pulling them outwards. Otherwise, you're liable to ruin the skate.

Perhaps they're tight enough already?

And it sounds like you haven't had them baked by the way you're talking about it. First thing you need to do with any new skates these days is have them baked. They should be doing it at the store the day you buy them. And the guy in the shop should help you, but yes, you put your foot in and lace them up as normal, but normal should be pulling to the sides with laces anyway so you don't tear out the eyelets.

Skates right out of the skate oven are easier to tighten. From there, they should be easier to tighten later on down the road. Out of the box, skates are quite stiff, so lacing them up properly after the skate oven helps a tonne.
