had to pay to get rid of him but on the bright side at least i don't have to read how he'll be helpful in the playoffs , lol

I swear we are cursed. Watch him light it up with Zona

There could be a small dead cat bounce, but I’m not seeing it, given the chances he’s been given not just here, but also In Anaheim and Boston (you wanna see salty? Bruins around the league thread trolololo).

And even if he does, he’s worth what, a 3rd to a stupid GM? I’d love it if at next years TDL he’s got maybe 8-15-23 and Ken Holland says ‘Giv Ritchie 4 2nd’.

He was the turd in the punch bowl, it’s amazing to see a low-probability pick that’s 4-7 years away (assuming they make it) and him turned into something even if that something isn’t much.

I was pretty pumped for this signing initially but it turned out to be awful. Ritchie was slow and took terrible penalties and the fact that we got any kind of value in return is impressive. Excited to see Lyubushkin play. His physically play will be a nice addition on our blueline.

Nick Ritchie was making $1.5 mil, and Boston walked away as a UFA.

Leafs sign him 2 years at $2.5 mil per.

Who didn't see this coming, sad that it would cost the Leafs another high pick to correct?

Anyone that watched Ritchie could see his was bull in a china stop style player, slow and reckless and took bad penalties.

The silver lining in now Leafs have recaptured that $2.5 mil for next year to re-sign Campbell or use elsewhere.

Mess you’re gaslighting and pretending that the Leafs didn’t get anything back in the trade.

The Leafs got a needed depth defender back which would have cost a mid round pick already so they paid a slight premium to move Ritchie’s contract. It’s not as drastic as your implying.

Some people call purposely misleading a discussion to start an argument trolling.

...actually I think everyone does, that's basically the definition of it.

Plus we all know Boston was saving their pennies for the uber productive (checks notes).... Nick Foligno. Wait, that can't be right.
