He had a normal training camp, went to the net and scored a garbage goal here and there. That's literally all he had to keep doing.

He definitely doesn't look happy at all playing in the AHL. Hopefully we can move him sooner than later.

Looks like his motivation may be gone. If so, he's done as an NHL player.
if he was motivated he'd be still with the Ducks

he's just a big guy with a decent skill set who doesn't want it bad enough , if he gave a f*** he'd lean out which would increase his speed and he'd consistently play with some energy which would keep in the league into his 30's

Secretly rooting for this guy even up until couple days ago. Just kept it to myself because nobody wants to hear stuff like that about Ritchie lol

I think I'm finally at my limit though. If he doesn't care, why should I. I'm not getting good vibes from him. He's coming off as a guy who just sucks the life out of a room right now. At least fake it dude so another team gives you another chance. Market yourself

Imagine if the devil made a pact with Micheal Bunting to take over Nick Ritchies carcass?

No one out there would be safe.

A lot of big men, are big softies for some reason.

This guy and Gauthier.

Tough to watch.

I was very small as a hockey player, but had the bite for sure.

Bunting would love to have Ritchies structure, even if for just a few games.

I can tell you this, I think Ritchie is going to be one helluva bitter older guy.

Maybe he should hire Don Cherry, as a consultant for a while And I am quite serious about that. Don would probably love the assignment and do a good job.

Does him being sent down give us an extra $2.5m wiggle room under the cap? Would be really nice if it did

I love almost everything this management team has done …
But unfortunately the Ritchie acquisition probably is the worse ????? Maybe
That’s cool though , no management team is perfect , and his strategies have been terrific thus far overall…
The thing that strikes me a bit confused, is that why wouldn’t they know about these qualities that he has exhibited with us ? It’s not like he hasn’t been this way in the past .
Should have given him a 1 year only and team option and bonuses..
It’s all good though

In every profession what separates the cream of the crop isn’t always just naturally skill it’s the willingness to do the work and this guy just doesn’t.

He should have taken the trading and being allowed to walk as a sign that both the Ducks and Bruins don’t think much of him. He was also given the keys to the kingdom to play with AM or JT and squandered it. Instead he got paid and did nothing. I hope rides the pine and doesn’t deserve any sympathy.

What happens in the locker room stays in the locker room. To a fault actually...

Hearing rumors he was pulled from the Marlies game in the 2nd period and told to pack his bags.
Strange rumor. He was injured in the second period. I think all players were asked to pack their bags as the Marlies are on the road for a couple of games.

he is. You don’t gotta be dumb about it. He’s played a majority of his career in the NHL, will probably be back in the NHL.
Just being realistic. The guy has been given every opportunity, and has looked like shit. I don’t even care about his complete lack of production. Or the fact that he had the softest zone deployments on the team while being tried for extended periods with the best player in the league. It’s the fact that he he has been slow and completely unable to make any decisions under pressure. There are no ridges in his brain.

Will someone give him another shot in the bigs? Maybe. He will probably be in the AHL this year and next, though, so I am doubtful, but NHL GMs can be pretty stupid, so you never know. He won’t stick.

If the worst ufa deal they’ve given out is 2 x 2.5m then count our lucky stars. How many bad deals do we see every year in the summer… 5-7 years at 4-7m for absolute anchors.

To be fair, he never actually got to play with JT even though that would have been a more logical choice.

Yeah it was straight from Matthews/Marner to the 4th line, and then out altogether.

And the thing is, he wasn't actually that bad on that 4th line, and in the very brief time he was playing with Tavares/Nylander (he filled in for a few games here or there when there were some injuries), he was amazing. It was a natural fit.

IDK why they didn't give that more of an extended look. Kerfoot has looked good there too, but we could have afforded to give Ritchie at least a decent look.
