Would make sense for Edmonton, they're running out of time and a bad contract in 3 years should be the least of their worries.

Him asking $6M-7M isn't max money as well, he wants term. Putting it on thread title Bob wants MAX MONEY is clearly false.
 
At his age, it better be one of those bonus-laden deals where it's like $2.5 million in base salary with the potential for triple that if he finishes top 3 in Vezina voting or something.
 
I dont blame him for trying. Their GM signed Marchand to a deal that keeps him in the league until he's 43.
 
Okay, now here's the question: Putting aside where, anyone want to take a stab at how much he actually gets & the term?

I'll throw out 4 years x ~$8M.

The gamble that he bounces back in year 1 or 2 and helps a playoff a team go on a run? I'd guess there's a GM out there that takes that bet.
