Nick Cousins possible suspension? (UPDATE - Fined $2k)

Getting a puck flipped towards a player in warmup.

I know playoff hockey is emotionally charged and all but this is completely disgusting behaviour from Cousins and at the worst possible time for his team.
Nick Cousins is the definition of irrelevant in this series. Was even healthy scratched for game one. This effects Ottawa not one bit.

Doesn't look like or appear to be firing pucks (plural) at all either.

Gamesmanship (while silly) is all it appears to be.

I must be blind, am I the only one who doesn't see what happened here on that replay?

From the words, it sounded like he took a slapper at him, but, like, at worst its maybe a weak pass?

Given what the NHL has allowed to go this postseason (ahem the numerous blatant cross checks to the face) its kind of ridiculous THIS is what gets the NHL to investigate further.

Is this really what we've come to? I feel like this is Dreger/Toronto media trying to stir things up again.

Just like the Toronto reporter (Simmons I assume) to Green after one game: "are we going to talk about the elephant in the room?" lol. Any other sport and the coach lays into him.

Christ...

“Active investigation” like a crime was committed. wtf is there to investigate? It was a 1 second incident where he lazily lobbed a puck at a guy. The NHL is so embarrassing

NHL is pretty strict about pregame stuff. If a pregame brawl kicks off, it becomes unstoppable in a hurry.

That said, stuff like this happens in every beer league. It’s probably just a question of whether to fine him.

I don't want anything to come of this because:
1. Its mostly a nothingburger. Tell him not to do it again and move on.
2. Sens playing without Nick Cousins is mostly likely a net-positive for them as he stinks at hockey.

im sure stanley cup champion nick cousins was just helping his former teamate warm up
Exactly, they were teammates and cup champions together. It might've been a tiny bit different (but still ridiculous) if it was someone like Grieg or Brady, but this is a big nothing burger and embarrassing for the league.

Don't think anyone really gives a shit about this. Keep Cousins in so he can be eliminated Saturday.
